On Sunday, Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus emphasized the need of valuing children’s healthy growth in order to create a new Bangladesh.
“The wealthy Bangladesh is shaped by its children. In a statement on the eve of World Children’s Day, he stated, “It is the responsibility of all of us to give importance to the beautiful development of children to build a new Bangladesh.”
Bangladesh celebrates World Children’s Day every year on the first Monday of October.
There is no alternative to proper environment, education, safety, nutrition and healthy entertainment for the physical, mental and cultural development of children, the chief adviser said.
Yunus also said if children grow up with a spirit of love, compassion and free-thinking, they will be able to play a positive role in building the future of Bangladesh.
“Today’s children will emerge as skilled professionals in different fields including art, literature, philosophy, economy, science, medicine and engineering,” he said.
The interim government, formed through an uprising, is determined to identify and solve problems like negligence of children, child labour, malnutrition and child marriage that hinder the proper development of the children.
“I hope that the activities planned in honor of World Children’s Day 2024 would enhance kids’ development in general. My wish for the world today is that all children, especially those in Bangladesh, grow up in a secure and loving environment, Yunus stated.
He wished World Children’s Day and Children Rights Week of 2024 every success.
