Withdrawal of public resignation and public holiday program of officers and employees of Palli Vidyut Samiti

On the call of the interim government, the officers and employees of the Palli Vidyut Samiti have withdrawn the mass resignation and mass holiday program.

This information was informed in a circular on Tuesday (August 27).

It is said in the circular that the 45,000 officers and employees of 80 Palli Vidyut Samiti providing electricity to 140 million people in 80 parts of the country have implemented uniform employment rules along with REB-Pobis merger to get rid of the dual rule of the Rural Electrification Board and the exploitation, discrimination and oppression that has been going on for 47 years. And ultimatum of 72 hours to all contractual and non-regular employees for realization of 2-point regularization demand is ongoing.

Considering the flood-affected people in the current context of the country, the determination of the newly formed interim government to build a discrimination-free country, the call of the student coordinators and the civil society of the country, and above all, the public resignation and public holiday program has been withdrawn.

The newly joined chairman of the BAPB board and the power department has promised to complete the reform activities of REB and Palli Vidyut Samiti and the demand for regularization of all contractual and irregular employees within a reasonable time and effective steps will be visible immediately.

In this situation, considering the overall situation of the country, the coordinators of the anti-discrimination movement of Palli Vidyut Samity have agreed on the decision to withdraw the movement.
