An alpha rhesus monkey has been rescued by Patharia wildlife conservation team in Juri upazila of Moulvibazar district. Thursday (2 February), the monkey was rescued from Omar Sutradhar's house in East Harirampur village of Juri Upazila. He has nurtured the monkey with love for many years.
A volunteer team on wildlife conservation in Juri is 'Patharia Wildlife Conservation Team'. Based on tip-off, the team members came to know that a monkey has been kept in a house in east Harirampur for many years. Because of that, they appeared there today at around three o'clock in the afternoon. They went and found a monkey chained in the yard. The owner of that house, Omar Sutradhar, and his family have been lovingly petting this monkey. Omar Sutradhar voluntarily agreed to release the monkey when Patharia wildlife conservation team members informed him about the crime of monkey detention.
Kamrul Hassan Noman, member of Patharia Wildlife Conservation Team, Manjur Alam Lal,
Khorshed Alam, Khaledur Rahman Saikat, Mahmud Uddin and Delawar Hossain were present at the moment.
Omar Sutradhar said, "I was not aware of the wildlife law. Now knowing about the law, I am handing over this monkey to you voluntarily. Hope my beloved monkey will be better now."
