The family of former finance and planning minister M Saifur Rahman is standing by the side of cold-hit people. The blankets were distributed under the initiative of the charity organization ‘Samarthan Foundation’ of Mahiba Zahra Rahman, the youngest daughter of former MP M Nasser Rahman, the elder son of the minister.
On Tuesday (January 24) afternoon, more than five hundred winter blankets were distributed among the affected local BNP leaders and activists and the poor who were victims of various cases and attacks in the school grounds of Sonatiki village of Rajnagar upazila of Moulvibazar. District BNP president M Nasser Rahman, vice president Regina Nasser and eldest daughter Farhin Amira Rahman were present at the time.
Rezina Nasser said, “I came to you in 2014 and held a meeting here on the balcony. Thank you for what you did for us in the last election. We have tried to come many times before but could not come due to various reasons. So I brought you a little present. Hope you will accept our little gift.”
M Nasser Rahman said, “We wanted to give blankets, but my wife said that we would give blankets only in Sonatiki. Today we have come to you from Dhaka. With a little gift. I hope this offer will be beneficial to you. I hope everyone will return home safe and sound.”
District BNP Vice President Md. Helu Miah, District BNP Joint General Secretary Fakhrul Islam, Organizing Secretary Baksi Misbah Ur Rahman, Publicity Secretary Md Idris Ali, Rajnagar Upazila BNP General Secretary Abbas Ali Master and others were present at the program.
