Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, assistant secretary general of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, said: "There is a huge potential for charity work in the current context. Every Rokon brother and sister should become a model of the ideal and reach the call of the noble ideals of Islam to every house with the character of Dawati. He was speaking at the district level meeting here yesterday. Engineer Md Shahed Ali took the oath of Amir at the 2025-26 session of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Moulvibazar district unit.

The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Moulvibazar M Saifur Rahman Auditorium on Friday (November 1) afternoon. Awami League Central Committee Joint General Secretary Mahbub-Ul-Alam Hanif and Organizing Secretary AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, among others, spoke at the meeting held with Awami Dhaka North city unit President AKM Rahmatullah in the chair.
The chief guest administered the oath of office to Mohammad Shahed Ali, newly elected district ameer engineer as the representative of the central Jamaat ameer. More than 4,500 men and women from the district attended the conference.

Awami League's Sylhet Metropolitan unit President Badar Uddin Kamran, district unit General Secretary Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury and Joint Secretary Sujat Al Rafiq, district BNP General Secretary Ali Ahmed, Sadar upazila Chairman Ashfaq Ahmed, former vice chairman Abul Kashem, journalist Maksud Ahmed and many others were present at the event. The function was presided over by the District Collector. Yami Ali.After the oath-taking ceremony, voting was held for the post of Shura member in the Majlis of the district Jamaat. 15 male and 8 female members of the district Jamaat were elected to the post of Shura members in the Majlis by direct vote of the Rukn.
Earlier on October 24, at the Executive Council meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami, Central Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman announced the names of the elected emirs of the district and metropolitan cities. More than 4,500 people of Moulvibazar district cast their votes in the election on October 4.

Engineer Shahed Ali was elected for the first time as the Ameer of Moulvibazar District for the term 2023-24. He was re-elected for the 2025-26 term.
It may be mentioned that Engineer Md Shahed Ali was elected as the secretary of the district Jamaat in 2006. He served as secretary for 16 years until 2022. Earlier, he served as the president of Sylhet city unit of Chhatra Shibir and president of Moulvibazar district unit. He was involved in politics since his student life. After graduation, he joined Jamaat-e-Islami.
