Relief efforts: Total collection stands at 11C, expenditure 1.75C

Under the name of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, a total of Tk11.10 crore was raised for flood assistance.

This money was gathered using cash, bank transfers, and mobile banking.

So far, the collected monies have been spent for a total of Tk17,512,794.

On Wednesday, Abdul Kader, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement’s coordinator, posted this information on his own Facebook profile.

Additionally, many active in the relief efforts posted this information on their Facebook sites.

Abdul Kader detailed the financial information, stating that from August 22 to September 4, a total of Tk111,013,569 was collected through cash, mobile banking, and bank transfers. Currently, Tk93,500,775 remains in the fund.

He mentioned: “This money is deposited in accounts managed by our coordinator and a teacher from Dhaka University at Janata and Sonali Banks.”

“We plan to use this money for post-flood rehabilitation. We are seeking the advice of local and national students and the public on how and through whom this money should be used to benefit the maximum number of people. The utilization of this money will be based on their suggestions.”

Recently, due to sudden heavy rainfall and hill torrents, several districts including Comilla, Feni, and Noakhali have experienced severe flooding. The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement began collecting relief items at TSC, Dhaka University, on August 22, and the campaign ended on September 2
