Delawar Hossain, students of the anti-discrimination student movement held a sit-in program demanding the resignation of the chairman and vice chairman of the upazila council in Juri, Juri Moulvibazar district. On Wednesday (August 14), the students held a sit-in at the upazila complex and held this program.
At this time, Juri Upazila Parishad Chairman Kishore Roy Chowdhury Mani and Vice Chairman Jewel Rana raised slogans throughout the day demanding resignation. If these two public representatives do not resign, the protestors have warned of a tougher movement.
Besides, during the student movement, the upazila executive ordered some journalists including Kamrul Hasan Noman, cultural affairs secretary of the Upazila Jubo League and Daily Ittefaq correspondent Kamrul Hasan Noman, campaign secretary and Samkal representative of the district Chhatra League to participate directly in the anti-student march. Make a claim to the officer.
The students also protested against some UP chairmen for taking part in the march against the movement. Meanwhile, the students threw them out of the government function.
At that time, students of anti-discrimination student movement Afzal Hossain, Abdullah Al Mahi and Mahtab Bhui Spandan and Tarek Rahman said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was forced to leave the country in the face of student movement.
During our movement in Juri, Upazila Parishad Chairman Kishore Roy Chowdhury Mani and Vice Chairman Jewel Rana took part in anti-student marches and activities, so we want the resignation of these two public representatives. Our continuous program will continue until we resign. If you don't resign, more severe agitation will be called.
In this regard, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Bablu Sutradhar said, I have heard various demands of the students. They have also given me a written complaint in this regard.
