Kulaura Upazila XI won the Moulvibazar Police Super Gold Cup Cricket Tournament. Kulaura defeated Moulvibazar Municipal XI by 51 runs.

After winning the toss in the final of the Police Super Gold Cup Cricket Tournament 2023 organized by the District Sports Organization at the M Saifur Rahman Stadium on Saturday (March 4) noon, Moulvibazar Municipality decided to bowl. After losing the toss, Kulaura XI collected 176 runs after losing 5 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Moulvibazar Municipal XI went into bat with a target of 177 runs and was all out for 125 runs in 18.2 overs.

In that game, Sylhet Range DIG Shah Mizan Shafiur Rahman BPM (Bar) PPM-(Seba) was present as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the players. Along with the trophy, the champion team was awarded a prize money of Tk 50,000 and the runner-up team was awarded a trophy and Tk 30,000 prize money.

In the speech of the Chief Guest, DIG Shah Mizan Shafiur Rahman BPM (Bar) PPM-(Seba)said, “I believe that if people want to live healthily, if they want to form a beautiful society, if they want to expand the range of the mind, if they want to conquer bigotry, if they want to deal with religious traders, art is necessary. There is no alternative to practicing culture. If we want to remove drugs, if we want to remove chaos from the society, our approaches are sports and cultural practices.”

Moulvibazar district administration and Moulvibazar district police presented greetings gifts to honorable DIG and other guests.

The price-giving ceremony was presided over by Additional District Commissioner (General) Prabhanshu Som Mahan.

Deputy Commissioner and President of District Sports Association Mr. Mir Nahid Ahsan, Chairman of Zilla Parishad and General Secretary of District Sports Association Alhaj Michbahur Rahman, District Superintendent of Police and Senior Vice President of District Sports Association Mohammad Zakaria, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Hasan were present. Mohammad Naser Rikabdar, Sadar Upazila Chairman Md. Kamal Hossain, Municipality Mayor Md. Fazlur Rahman, Kulaura Municipality Mayor Sipar Uddin Ahmad, in-charges of various police stations and units of the district police were also present.
