In Kadamhata of Rajnagar upazila of Moulvibazar and Tilagaon union of Kulaura upazila, the protection dam of Manu river has broken and water is entering the locality. Residents of Moulvibazar are terrified. The district BNP along with the administration request city dwellers to be aware.
The dam broke at midnight on Wednesday (August 21). Thousands of people in the surrounding area are trapped in water. Meanwhile, 2035 metric tons of rice has been allocated in 7 upazilas 40 tons of rice in Baralekha upazila, 30 tons in Juri upazila. Ton, 15 May in Kulaura Upazila. Ton, 30 May in Rajnagar Upazila. Last Thursday morning, water entered the locality after breaking the flood defense embankment of Manu River at Kadamhata Namaksthan of Rajnagar Upazila of the district. As a result, the Moulvibazar-Rajnagar-Fenchuganj and Moulvibazar-Kulaura-Babarlekha routes have been closed since morning.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday night, water entered the locality after breaking the protective embankment of Manu River in Tilagaon Union of Kulaura Upazila.
People in these flood-affected areas have moved to various shelters. However, due to the lack of search by public representatives and administration people in the shelters, there has been an extreme food shortage.
