Mobile court: Collection of fine of BDT 5200 in 25 cases
The Moulvibazar Today:: On the first day of the Shutdown, some shops are open and people are present in the markets of Rajnagar Upazila. Rajnagar Upazila administration is in a tough position to implement the Shutdown. Police have taken a position at various important corners of the Upazila to implement the lockdown from Thursday (July 1) morning. At the same time, the army and BGB took to the field.
Meanwhile, Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Priyanka Paul and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Urmi Roy conducted mobile courts in different markets of the Upazila and collected fines of Tk 5,200 in 25 cases to enforce the lockdown and ensure strict restrictions on human movement and other issues.
After inspecting some of the markets in the Upazila, it was seen that after the magistrate conducted the operation and left, people were moving in the market as unrestrained as before, shops were being opened and trade was going on.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Rajnagar Police Station Mohammad Nazrul Islam said, "Police have taken a position at various important points including Munshibazar, Bandhbazar, and College points of the Upazila. We are making every effort to make people aware. And we will take tougher action against those who keep the shops open."
Rajnagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Priyanka Paul said, "We will continue our campaign to implement strict lockdown. We are doing our best to convince people. "
