Police have recovered the body of Paul Marlia, 50, from Kamalganj upazila in Moulvibazar.

The body was recovered on Saturday (October 12) afternoon from Laua Rong neighborhood of Kalenji Khasia Punji of Adampur union of the upazila. Paul Maralia Kalenji is the son of Jenabeldar Maralia of Khasiapunji.

According to police and Kalenji Punji sources, Paul Marlia went missing in the floodwaters of the mountain in heavy rain while crossing the river on his way back from Zoom on Friday afternoon. He could not be found till late in the evening. Locals informed the UP chairman and the police when his body was found floating in the stream some distance away from Punji on Saturday afternoon. Later, a police team reached the spot and recovered the body.

Kamalganj police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Ziaul Islam said: “The body has been recovered. The body was sent to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
