Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun has been appointed as the Moulvibazar District and Sessions Judge Court’s chief legal officer (GP), with Advocate Abdul Matin Chowdhury serving as the public prosecutor.

The Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs has appointed 42 lawyers to the positions of public prosecutor (GP), additional public prosecutor, assistant public prosecutor, public prosecutor (PP), additional public prosecutor, and assistant public prosecutor in Moulvibazar’s various courts.

Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun, president of Moulvibazar District Nationalist Lawyers “Forum, has been appointed as the legal officer of Moulvibazar District Judge’s Court. He joined the legal profession on 4 April 1988.

Meanwhile, Advocate Abdul Matin Chowdhury is the general secretary of former finance and planning minister late M Saifur Rahman Memorial Council and one of the members of Moulvibazar district unit of Jatiyatabadi Lawyers Forum and vice-president of Moulvibazar district committee of Nagorik Sujon for good governance. He has been appointed as Public Prosecutor (PP) in the District Sessions Judge Court. He has been practicing law since May 5, 2000.

Separate appointments were issued in this regard from the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs on Wednesday, October 23.

Bakshi Zubair Ahmed has been appointed as the public prosecutor and Nazrul Islam as the assistant prosecutor of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal. Meanwhile, Advocate Delwar Hossain has been appointed as the additional counsel of the district judge court. Abdul Ahad, Runu Kanta Dutta, Abdul Wahid, Gobinda Mohan Pal, Abdus Salam (1) Abu Nahar Mohammad Masahud, Tofail Ahmed Sabuj have been appointed as additional public prosecutors of the district and sessions judge court. The other accused in the case are Md Shafiqul Islam, Md Al Amin, Md Al Amin and Anisur Rahman, Abdur Razzak, Md Rana, Shamim Miah, Dulal Uddin and Mobarak Hossain Monju.

The assistant public prosecutors of the district and sessions judge court are Billal Hossain, Shailesh Chandra Roy, Syed Nepur Ali, Abdul Motaleb, Abdus Salam (2), Subina Akter, Saleh Ahmed Ripon, Abdullah Alamgir, Ahmed Ur Rahman Khan, Nasim Ahmed Bappi, Jalal Ahmed, Fazle Elahi, Kamrul Islam, Md. Khalid and Md. Bulbul Ahmed.

In the appointment letter signed by Deputy Solicitor (GP) Sana Md Mahruf Hossain, the district and sessions judge courts of Moulvibazar district and their subordinate courts, different levels of tribunals and special judge courts have been relieved of their respective posts after cancelling the appointments of all the law officers appointed earlier.
