In the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case, where a lower court condemned BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to seven years in prison, the High Court cleared her on Wednesday.

The trial court’s decision to sentence Khaleda and two other defendants in the same case was overturned by the court.

The High Court bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain delivered the judgement.
