A protest march, involving revolutionary students and the public, took place in Juri on Saturday, demanding the ban of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations, which they labeled as a "genocidal and terrorist organization." The march commenced at 9:30 PM.
Following the march, a public gathering was held where public leader Mohammad Afzal Hossain stated, "Due to their engagement in terrorist and anti-national activities, and their involvement in the July-August genocide, the Awami League and its affiliated organizations must be banned in Bangladesh. Those involved in this terrorist organization's genocide must be arrested, and legal proceedings must be completed swiftly, with punishment enforced immediately."
Student leader Mohammad Abdullah said, "We will not allow any shadow of darkness to fall on this land, stained with the blood of our brothers. We want peace, we want justice. Those who have stained their hands with the blood of thousands of our brothers have no place in Bangladeshi politics. They must be brought to justice. If you do not respect the blood of our brothers, history will not forgive you. We clearly state to the interim government: you sit on chairs of power obtained through the blood of our brothers. Do not let this blood be in vain. Do not betray that blood."
Also addressing the gathering were Youth Forum Secretary Hafiz Shahab Uddin, Juri Upazila Chhatra Dol Member Secretary Suhel Ahmad, student leader Farid Uddin, Juri Upazila Chhatra Dol Joint Convener Ruel Ahmad, Juri Upazila Chhatra Dol member Amir Hossain, and youth leader Shahin Ahmad.
The speakers at the gathering strongly condemned the Awami League and its affiliated organizations for their terrorist activities and demanded their immediate ban. They also called for the arrest and exemplary punishment of those involved in the July-August genocide.
