For the first time since the country’s independence, Moulvibazar District Jamaat will organise a workers’ conference on the grounds of Moulvibazar Government High School next Saturday (December 21). Leaders and activists are conducting extensive propaganda and campaigning across Moulvibazar district, including posters, leaflets, miking, campaign processions, meetings, pamphlets, banners, festoons, and torans, focusing on the conference. To make the conference a success, district-level leaders are going to the people. All leaders and workers are roaming the grounds ahead of the Jamaat workers’ conference. Since Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman’s home district is home to a lot of publicity. The general public has shown interest in this event.

According to Moulvibazar District Jamaat sources, no such conference has been held in the open in Moulvibazar in the 53 years of independence. This is the first time that the conference is being held in an open field. Extensive preparations have been made for the conference. Invitations are being extended to everyone for Saturday’s conference. It is estimated that more than a lakh people will gather at this conference. The conference will start at 10 am and end at 1 pm. The chief guest of the event will be Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, a resident of Moulvibazar district, along with leaders of Jamaat’s central and Sylhet divisions.

On Thursday, when we went to the Jamaat conference venue at Moulvibazar Government High School grounds, we saw that the stage was being set up. Along with this, work on a huge pandal was also underway. A marquee was being erected across a large part of the field. Despite the presence of more than a lakh people, arrangements were being made for 10,000 chairs inside the pandal. Several leaders and activists of the district Jamaat are inspecting the conference work and supervising the work of the responsible persons.

We spoke to poet Badrul Amin Chowdhury Sufi there. He said that spontaneity has emerged among the people of Moulvibazar around this historic conference. Starting from daily wage workers, all classes of people are looking forward to it. This conference will be history in Moulvibazar.

Moulvibazar Municipality Jamaat Secretary Murshed Ahmed Chowdhury, who is in charge of the discipline department, said, “Every unit of Jamaat is working to make the conference successful and worthwhile. The conference venue is being prepared for lakhs of people. All the people in the remote areas, neighbourhoods, and mahallas of Moulvibazar are excited.”

Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila Jamaat Ameer Md. Fakhrul Islam, who is in charge of the decoration of the conference, said, “The decoration work is almost complete. There are some minor tasks that will be resolved by tomorrow. We hope to be able to present a beautiful workers’ conference to the people of Moulvibazar. The amount of interest we see from the people, lakhs of people will gather here.”

He said, “We will have support all around the field for security. And so that people can come here and enjoy it without any problems, there will be medical facilities, stalls, adequate water facilities, and we will have toilets.” It can be said that we will be able to hold our program with maximum security in a beautiful environment.

Moulvibazar Municipality Jamaat Ameer Hafez Tajul Islam said there is an atmosphere centred around the conference in every area of the district. The workers are working in the field with enthusiasm. They are playing an active role in participating in the conference. Lakhs of people will gather at the conference. The Ameer-e-Jamaat will speak to unite the nation.

District Jamaat Secretary Md. Yamir Ali said, to make the conference a success, processions, meetings, miking, and leaflets are being distributed widely everywhere from villages to cities. We are optimistic that there will be a large number of people present regardless of party affiliation. We call on people from all walks of life to participate in the Ameer-e-Jamaat Moulvibazar district’s first program. Moulvibazar District Jamaat Naib-e-Ameer Maulana Abdur Rahman said the workers’ conference is being held after 2006. We are proud that our district’s Ameer-e-Jamaat, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, will come here and deliver an important speech to the nation. Moulvibazar residents are excited on the occasion of the arrival of Ameer-e-Jamaat. We are getting a huge response in villages, towns, and remote areas.

Moulvibazar District Jamaat Ameer Engineer Shahed Ali said the Moulvibazar District Jamaat workers’ conference is being held after 53 years. We had lost the right to speak our basic words like the rest of the country after 17 years of oppression, oppression, and oppression. In such an open environment, interest and enthusiasm have increased among all the people of the district. Meanwhile, posters, leaflets, miking, banners, festoons, and arches are being campaigned at the district, upazila, union, and ward levels. The district residents are eager to join the conference on the 21st.

He said, We want to see a changing Bangladesh for the country’s reforms. Our conference will play a milestone role for the changing Bangladesh of the future. The countrymen will be inspired by this conference and will get the necessary instructions from here.

He further said, since the August 5 revolution, we have noticed that a malicious group is plotting and conspiring to sabotage the revolution. The people of the country will not tolerate plots, conspiracies, and bloodshed. And the people will not rehabilitate these conspirators in the politics of Bangladesh. The people will join our conference after cutting the web of all these conspiracies.
