31-Point Program for Restoring Democracy is a Long-Term Plan
Akhailkura Union BNP Holds Bi-Annual Conference
BNP National Executive Committee member and former MP M. Nasser Rahman stated that BNP’s 31-point agenda clearly mentions that educated unemployed individuals will receive unemployment benefits for up to one year or until they find employment, whichever comes first. Various practical initiatives will be taken to eliminate unemployment, and the age limit for entering government jobs will be reconsidered based on international standards.
He also said that healthcare would be treated as a national asset, and based on the principles of “Healthcare for All” and “No Death Due to Lack of Treatment,” a universal healthcare system would be introduced following the UK model.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at the bi-annual conference of Akhailkura Union BNP in Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila on Wednesday (March 19) in the afternoon.
M. Nasser Rahman further stated that BNP’s 31-point agenda includes implementing a universal health card system and expanding the social safety net for underprivileged communities until poverty is eradicated.
He also emphasized that if BNP comes to power, the fair price of agricultural products will be ensured. Government procurement centers for agricultural products will be gradually established in all unions across the country. If necessary, subsidies will be provided to introduce crop insurance, livestock insurance, fisheries insurance, and poultry insurance.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the non-agricultural use of agricultural land will be discouraged, and incentives will be given to export-oriented agricultural processing industries.
Nasser Rahman asserted that the 31-point program for restoring democracy is a comprehensive long-term plan. This plan incorporates the vision, thoughts, and aspirations of the youth, and a modern and timely youth development policy will be formulated. He urged party leaders and activists to disseminate BNP’s 31-point program to people at all levels.
