Within two days, the price of gold has risen once more on the domestic market.
The new rate for 22-carat gold is Tk142,266 per bhori, after the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) increased the price by as much as Tk2,833 per bhori.
Masudur Rahman, the head of the Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring, signed a press release on Saturday that contained this information.
Bajus claims that the local market has seen an increase in the price of raw gold.
With effect from Sunday, the new gold prices have been established in light of the overall circumstances.
Under the new pricing, the rate for the highest quality 22-carat gold is Tk142,266 per bhori (11.664 grams), 21-carat gold is Tk135,804 per bhori, 18-carat gold is Tk116,395 per bhori, and traditional method gold is Tk95,645 per bhori.
Although gold prices have increased, silver prices remain unchanged.
For 22-carat silver, the price per bhori is Tk2,578, 21-carat is Tk2,449, 18-carat is Tk2,111, and traditional method silver is Tk1,586.
