Floods in Kamalganj half a million people trapped in water

The Dhalai Lachar breached the defence barrier after the last three consecutive monsoons and heavy rains from the upper reaches of Kamalganj in Moulvibazar.

About 130 villages have been inundated by the floods, and thousands of people have been trapped in the water. People are flooded with suffering. It is known locally that in Dhalai, Laghata, and Kshirani, water started rising last night before the rains in the upstream hilly areas. As a result, the water from the hills began to overflow into the Dhalai River.

Flowing through the danger line on Monday, a dam break started in the Dhalai River in the afternoon. The name Dhalai is typified by the four Varna floods seen in structural breakdowns. Muslim Adampur, Islampur, Madhavpur, Kamalganj Sadar, Alinagar, Shamshernagar, Parkaushar, Munsibazar, Rahimpur, and various villages of the municipality were inundated. After the flood, mortality increased throughout the entire union. The state is divided into nine unions and municipal areas.

Millions of people are trapped in the water.

Various markets have collapsed. Vast Aman fields and vegetables planted by farmers have been submerged. Some dry food and fresh water are also available. The flood is worsening in the lower Shamshernagar, Munsibazar, and Parkaushar Unions. As a result, ponds and fish farms are emerging. There is a shortage of fish farmers. In an institution earlier, school, father’s presence in the madrasa was negligible. Provincial Mayor Mohammad Asad Neta said that Tk 3 lakh cash has been allocated for 60 metric tonnes of GR rice and dry upazila food for those opposing the Kamalaya flood. Kamalganj Upazila Parishad Chairman Joynal Abe said nine floods have occurred. A peace centre has been opened in the area. There is a round-the-clock flood watch. Through Varaddha, Jananidhi’s dry party has also started. It is to be noted that the state watered the Kurmaghatak post of Islampur Union on Saturday morning after 3 consecutive days of rain in the good part of the city and Mokabil area and after last evening in Katabil Dhalai of Adampur Union. A few defence barriers have broken through the Madhavpur Union area, and now Islampur, Adpur, and a part of Madhavpur have become waterlogged. The preparedness of some parts of this alliance is widespread in the description of the flood water, and the brutal, renewed flooding of Shamshernagar, Rahimpur, and Ushasha Oikya has been reported.
