New Police Superintendent MKH Jahangir Hossain held an exchange meeting with the leaders of various labor organizations of the district to resolve the traffic congestion in Moulvibazar city.
This exchange meeting was organized in the conference room of the office of the Superintendent of Police on Thursday (September 12) at noon.
Officials of Moulvibazar Traffic Police, presidents and general secretaries of different trade unions of Moulvibazar and other leaders of the district attended the meeting.
At the meeting, all agreed to take legal measures to control the traffic congestion caused by the free movement of shops, battery-operated rickshaws, CNG auto-rickshaws and tomtoms that have occupied the roads in Moulvibazar city in recent times.
The Superintendent of Police sought everyone's cooperation in reducing traffic congestion and said, 'The number of vehicles should be controlled according to the capacity of the city. Rapid action will be taken in coordination with the district administration, BRTA and the concerned authorities to manage the traffic on the city roads and in proportion to the population. '
He said strict action will soon be taken against illegal vehicles, including illegal parking, unregistered tomtoms, CNG and battery-operated auto-rickshaws, to ease traffic congestion in the city.
Also present on the occasion were Additional DIG (Crime) of CID Imam Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) of Narayanganj District Police TI Mosharraf Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police Mehedi Imran Siddiqui, and Inspector of CID's Narayanganj division Md Babul Hossain, among others.
