Dengue: 3 more die; 403 hospitalized in 24hrs

In the 24 hours leading up to Saturday morning, three more dengue deaths were reported, bringing the total number of deaths in Bangladesh this year from the mosquito-borne illness to 95.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 403 additional patients were admitted to the hospital during that time due to viral fever.

Of these, 135 were hospitalized in Dhaka South City Corporation and 117 were admitted to hospitals under the Dhaka North City Corporation due to dengue.

Approximately 1,509 patients are undergoing care at various hospitals throughout the nation.
Since January 1, 2024, 15,207 dengue cases have been documented.

Dengue killed 1,705 individuals last year, making it the bloodiest year ever recorded.

Last year, the DGHS reported 3,18,749 recoveries from dengue and 321,179 cases.
