Assistant Professor Riaz Uddin of Shah Nimatra Sagarnal Fultala Degree College of Juri Upazila of Moulvibazar was injured in a terrorist attack inside his college. This incident happened on Sunday (September 1) afternoon.

Injured teacher Riaz Uddin said that recently, part-time teacher Mohi Uddin of the college was dismissed and the student was punished due to an immoral relationship with a student. There was a staff meeting of the teachers in the college on Sunday. During the meeting, suddenly some former students of the college and some outsiders came and brought the dismissed teacher and student and demanded to apologize in front of everyone. Meanwhile, the teachers told them that the matter has been resolved, but if there is any demand, it will be resolved with the participation of the administration and everyone. Riyaz Uddin said, they got excited by not accepting this matter and tore the national flag raised in the college with Jai Bangla slogans and vandalized the office and blocked the gate by standing at the college gate. When some teachers including me wanted to go out, these terrorists attacked us. At one stage of their mayhem, I was injured and fell on the ground.

College principal Zahir Uddin said that the injured teacher Riaz Uddin was rescued and treated at Juri Upazila Health Complex.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Juri police station Mehdi Hasan said that the injured teacher Riaz Uddin gave a written complaint to the police station on Sunday evening. Legal action is being taken in this regard.
