A case has been filed against 113 people including Awami League President and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in connection with the attack on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s convoy at Tejgaon police station.

On Sunday (August 18), General Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Ward No. 26 BNP Billal Hossain filed this case at Tejgaon Police Station as the plaintiff.

Names of 113 people are mentioned in the case and 500-700 others are anonymous.

According to the statement of the case filed at Tejgaon Police Station, Khaleda Zia participated in the election campaign on behalf of Tabith Awal, the nominated candidate of BNP for the post of mayor of Dhaka North City on April 20, 2015.

Between 12:30 noon and 1:00 p.m., Awami League and its various organizations carried out an armed attack on the street in front of Bapex Bhavan, Palli Bhavan, Family Planning Office and Kabyaks Super Market to kill BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

In that attack, all the vehicles of Khaleda Zia’s convoy were vandalized and many BNP leaders including CSF security guards were seriously injured. Although the Tejgaon police wanted to cooperate with the matter, they played a silent role.

Due to political influence, the case could not be filed at the time of the incident.

In the declaration, names of 5 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal are mentioned as order givers. Besides, the names of 7 people are mentioned as providers of money. 101 persons were mentioned in the statement of the case as the attackers.
