Battery-operated rickshaws will soon be stopped in Moulvibazar, a city of expatriates and tourists. Since the last 2 months, suddenly, battery-operated rickshaws are being sold in the city. Accidents often occur due to reckless driving and violation of traffic rules. Besides, the parking of battery-operated rickshaws and CNGs across the city has led to traffic jams. There is heavy traffic. Pedestrians are always afraid of such accidents. The administration is soon going to stop these illegal rickshaws and CNG.
Superintendent of Police KH Jahangir Hossain PPM disclosed the information at a district law and order meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Md Israil Hossain at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room on Tuesday, October 14. He said the drive against illegal CNG and tomatoes will continue. Illegal vehicles will not be allowed to ply on city roads. There are 34,000 CNGs in Moulvibazar district. We will look into how CNG has grown so much. And we will take legal action against those who do not update the documents. He said there are about 15,000 tomatoes in the city, which the former municipality mayor has allowed them to run. We didn’t have a police officer. Whenever there is a traffic jam in the city, there are various levels of blame on the police. We will always work with you.
Gradually, tomatoes will also be brought under the law. He said the police are working to prevent the increase in thefts and robberies in the expatriate and tourist-dominated Ejela in view of the upcoming winter season. He, however, appealed to all concerned to maintain law and order in the district. Meanwhile, he expressed his gratitude to all the devotees for the successful completion of Durga Puja in the district.
