Awami League government swallowed democracy, says Haji Mujib at BNP’s Srimangal rally

Haji Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury, a central BNP executive member, joined a workers’ rally at Sreemangal Star Community Centre on the afternoon of November 8. He said the Awami League government had swallowed democracy. We were not even allowed to hold a rally.It was our democratic right. They have taken away our rights. “When we got the news of any meeting, people would rush. The police stopped them out of fear. Anyway, we had a meeting. The police later arrested those who took part in the protest. This is evidence of the influx of people at the meetings we now hold. He said there were four other pandals outside the pandal in Kamalganj.

At the same time, he said that a large public gathering will be organized in Srimangal soon. The sea will also flow in the vicinity of Srimangal. BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, chairperson’s adviser Abdul Awal Mintoo, BNP joint secretary general Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, organising secretary Abdus Salam Azad and ex-Dhaka City unit BNP members secretary Abdus Salam were, among others, present at the meeting. Later, a grand procession was taken out marking the National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
