Since the resignation of the Sheikh Hasina government in the face of intense mass protests, panic has spread among the residents of the Hindu community in all the upazilas of Moulvibazar, but it has gradually calmed down.
Along with the army, the presence of local BNP, Jamaat and anti-discrimination student movement leaders has been noticed in Hindu dominated areas along with religious institutions in all upazilas including district towns. Apart from this, they are also responsible for cleanliness and traffic in the city.
Major Mezbaur Rahman, commander of the army camp, visited the temple on Thursday and Friday and said, "Those who cause the deterioration of law and order will be suppressed with strict hands.
Going to Durgabari area in the middle of the night, it is seen that some army personnel are performing the security duties of the temple.
Swagat Das Kishore Chowdhury, former councilor of Moulvibazar municipality, said that a team of the army visited their temple. Apart from this, he promised to stand by them in any problem with regular patrolling in the area. Since the fall of Sheikh Hasina government, there have been incidents of attacks, vandalism and arson in different areas of Moulvibazar. Also, since August 5, the law and order situation further deteriorated due to the absence of police in the police stations.
