The distribution of paddy seeds and fertilizers among 500 small and marginal farmers of 8 unions has been inaugurated at Rajnagar in Moulvibazar.
Moulvibazar-3 MP Nesar Ahmed inaugurated the distribution program organized by the Upazila Agriculture Rehabilitation Committee at 11 am on Tuesday, June 29.
According to the Upazila Agriculture Office, in order to increase the planting and production of transplanted Aman in the Kharif-2 season, rice seeds and fertilizers are being given to 500 small and marginal farmers of the Upazila in the fiscal year 2020-21. Each farmer is being provided 5 kg rice seed, 10 kg DAP and 10 kg MOP fertilizer. This year, the Upazila Agriculture Department is providing seeds to farmers without Bina, Bridhan 49, Bridhan 61, Bridhan 51, and Bridhan 52.
Upazila Executive Officer Priyanka Paul presided over the function, Deputy Director of Moulvibazar Agriculture Extension Department Lutful Bari, Women Vice-Chairman Mukti Chakraborty, Upazila Agriculture Officer Sheikh Iffat Ara Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajnagar Police Station Md. Nazrul Islam, Upazila Awami League general secretary and UP chairman Milon Bakht.
Among others present on the occasion were Rajnagar UP Chairman Dewan Khairul Majid Salek, Upazila Krishak League President Mahmudur Rahman, Swechasebak League Vice-President Rezaul Karim Sohel, Juba League General Secretary Abdul Qadir Fauji, and others.
