Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, Moulvibazar Government College unit, organized a discussion meeting on the significance of Ramadan and a public iftar event.

The event took place on Tuesday (March 11) at 5 PM on the college campus. Around 400 people, including students and staff, attended the gathering.

The program was presided over by Ziaur Rahman, President of the Moulvibazar Government College unit of Chhatra Shibir. The chief guest was Tareq Monowar, President of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) Chhatra Shibir. Special guests included Tareq Aziz, President of the Moulvibazar City unit, Office Secretary Abdullah Al Mamun, Dawah Secretary Roman Ahmad, and other leaders from various branches.

Tareq Monowar stated that Ramadan is a month of self-purification and sacrifice. He emphasized that this month provides an opportunity to eliminate negativity within ourselves and awaken human values. He expressed hope that the teachings of Ramadan would bring peace and prosperity to personal and social life.

Tareq Aziz remarked that Chhatra Shibir always stands by students and works for their welfare. He described the iftar event as a unique example of brotherhood and mutual support, believing that such gatherings would foster unity and harmony among students.

College unit President Ziaur Rahman noted that in previous years, permission for such iftar events had been denied. He claimed that the downfall of the “Awami dictatorship” through the July Revolution and the events of August 5 had purified campuses across the country. He stated that the sanctity of Ramadan was helping cleanse every campus from past impurities.
