Speaking at a BNP worker’s rally in Moulvibazar, former MP and BNP National Executive Committee member M Nasser Rahman said, “Sheikh Hasina is not a political leader of Bangladesh. She was groomed by India to implement their agenda, and she has delivered everything India required from her. She herself admitted that India will never forget what she has done for them. Such statements cannot come from a patriotic politician.”

Rahman criticized Sheikh Hasina for boasting about wealth, saying, “She used to proudly claim that her peon became a millionaire and traveled in helicopters. This shows the depths to which she has dragged the country’s politics.”

He further alleged, “Sheikh Hasina came to power with an agenda. India instructed her to evict Begum Khaleda Zia from her cantonment residence as her first task, and she did so. India also asked her to abolish the caretaker government system, which she complied with because she feared that under a neutral caretaker system, the fascist Awami League could never return to power. Ironically, Sheikh Hasina herself had enforced 164 days of strikes and blockades between 1994 and 1996 to demand the caretaker system, causing massive financial losses to the country.”

Rahman also accused Hasina of fleeing the country multiple times, saying, “She has not fled once but many times. On May 30, 1981, when President Ziaur Rahman was assassinated, she fled to India disguised in a burqa through the Akhaura border. During the 1/11 political turmoil, she fled the country again. She often claims that she never runs away, but on August 5, she fled the country fearing a student-led uprising. After 15 and a half years of tyranny, she abandoned the nation in chaos.”

He described Sheikh Hasina as “India’s puppet,” accusing her of following their directives to the detriment of the country. He claimed that on August 5, she fled to India, stating that she did so to avoid further violence in the country, labeling it a lie.

Nasser Rahman further declared that by 2025, Bangladeshi politics will enter a new era where the Awami League, identified by the people as a genocidal party, will be completely eradicated. “The Awami League has long oppressed the people like a heavy stone, but their days are numbered,” he said.

The rally, held at the Moulvibazar Municipality premises on Saturday evening, was chaired by District BNP Convener Faizul Karim Moyeen and conducted by District BNP General Secretary Mizanur Rahman Mizan. Special guests included expatriate BNP leader and Central Executive Committee member Faisal Ahmed Chowdhury.

Other speakers at the rally included District BNP leaders Moazzem Hossain Matuk, Mosharraf Hossain Badsha, MA Mukit, Ashiq Mosharraf, Mohammad Helu Miah, Fakhrul Islam, Bokshi Mishbahur Rahman, Motin Bokshi, Abdur Rahim Ripon, Monowar Ahmed Rahman, Swagata Kishore Das Chowdhury, Abul Kalam Belal, Anisuzzaman Bayes, and Shah Saiful Akhtar Likhan, president of the UK-based Nationalist Forum.

From noon onwards, hundreds of BNP leaders and activists from across the district began gathering in Moulvibazar with slogans, banners, and processions in support of the Zia family. The worker’s rally eventually transformed into a massive public gathering.
