Most of the area of Sylhet-Sunamganj has been inundated by the recent flood due to torrential rain and the flash flood in upstream India’s Meghalaya and Assam. The whole Sylhet was affected by this terrible flood of remembrance period. It is inconceivable that whether the people of Sylhet-Sunamganj will be able to overcome that loss or not.
The cry for rescue and relief was intensifying, and it moved the world to tears. Many people from home and abroad stood by the flood-affected people of Sylhet. That too was unimaginable.
Moulvibazar Flourish Language Club also stood among the flood-affected people of Sylhet.
With the participation of former and current students, they helped the people of Sunamganj with a relief of about TK three and a half lakh.
Flourish Language Club director Jillul Haque said, “A total of 8,000 kgs of relief was distributed to flood victims. 528 families have been given relief, meaning each family got 15 kgs of relief.”
428 relief packages were distributed to the flood victims of various flood-hit areas, including Tahirpur in Sunamganj. Moreover, 100 relief packages have been given to the flood-affected people in different villages of Khalilpur Union of Moulvibazar.
