M Nasser Rahman, son of former finance minister Saifur Rahman and former president of Moulvibazar BNP, has made an ‘aggressive’ Facebook status by linking Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer to him.
At 7: 20pm on Friday (November 8), he posted a post on his official Facebook page about Dr Shafiqur Rahman, the ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. As soon as the post was posted, the comments started pouring in. Suddenly, such a Facebook status of a top BNP leader of Moulvibazar district has created a stir across the district.
In a Facebook post, M Nasser Rahman wrote: Listening to Shafiqur Rahman’s speech these days, it seems that he has gone to the sister of the President of Bangladesh! I feel like I hear him say different things almost every day. I don’t understand why he is doing so much. Yesterday, he said that in the last 15 years, no party has been more persecuted than Jamaat-e-Islami! ! Can’t expect such a funny statement from him! Are the number of Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists more than that of BNP?? Has the Awami League harassed 20 per cent of the lakhs of BNP leaders and activists who have been convicted and jailed in thousands of cases? With such a ridiculous and unrealistic statement aimed at undermining the BNP’s 15-year-long movement and oppression against the autocratic Hasina, she has made a vain attempt to gain the sympathy of the countrymen! ”
Nasser Rahman wrote, “The people of the country understand very clearly that Dr. Shafiqur does not want early elections! And the BNP understands why they don’t want it. But the country is not going to change! “BNP is the only political force in Bangladesh. And the transitional government will be forced to hold the next election within a reasonable time as demanded by the BNP! No other fringe group seems to have any chance of prolonging it! “
“I don’t understand why Jamaat-e-Islami is not getting its real Amir Maulana Azharul Islam out of jail. ! He should have at least been released on bail by now!! Whether this is a mischievous reason or not is a matter of public debate! ”
