Two dragon fruits sold for Rs 45,000

Two dragon fruits were sold for Rs 45,000 in the auction. The two fruits are sold at the waz mahfil of a madrasa in Kamalganj of the district. This has caused a stir in the area.

It is known that one Lipu Sultana Chowdhury donated two dragon fruits to Waz Mahfil of Islamia Malikia Madrasa in Kamalganj upazila. At midnight, the last speaker of the mahfil, Shaykhul Hadith Mufti Moshahid Ali Quasemi, publicly auctioned the two dragon fruits. At one stage, UK expatriate Alhaj Alamgir Chowdhury bought the two fruits by paying the highest price of Tk 45,000.

Attendees of the waz and doa mahfil said that at the end of the mahfil, two dragon fruits were auctioned before the doa, starting from Tk 2,000 to a maximum of Tk 45,000. The purpose of all those who participated in the auction is to cooperate with religious institutions.

Confirming the matter, Maulana Abdul Hafiz, president of Islamia Malikia Madrasa, said: “The person who bought the fruits is the president of our madrasa management committee.
