An Israeli product boycott has been demanded by Jagannath University (JnU) students in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes on Palestine and Lebanon.
They made their demand on Friday afternoon during a protest march led by the Human Rights Society of the institution.
The students said that the Israeli occupiers have been carrying out aggression in Palestine for a long time. “We’re all human beings, we don’t want to lose a life. We are here today (Friday) protesting freely, but my Palestinian brothers cannot sing their song of liberation. We want their freedom. We are calling for a boycott of their (Israel) products.”
Minhajul Islam, a university student, said: “Israel has ended Palestine and now extended its hand to Lebanon. After suppressing the Sunnis, they captured the Shias. When they kill, we kill Muslims, but we are with Sunnis and Shias. We need to unite the Arab and Muslim world against this Israeli aggression. We cannot liberate Palestine by standing here. All we can do is not use Israeli-marked products. We will not die if we do not eat the products of Israel. This is our protest.”
Human Rights Society General Secretary Junaid Masud said: “Humanity is lost today. We are speechless. We have no tanks, and no ammunition, all we have is the language of protest. We stand in protest against the attacks on Palestine and Lebanon. We will not use any of their products. We are calling for a boycott of their products.”
