He further said, “Why will India talk against Bangladesh and protest against it. Former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia will address the rally as the chief guest. It was the students’ crime to speak up for these righteous words. Student leaders have not been able to sleep in their homes for 15 and a half years. There is no possibility of returning to peace. We came here for that. Our roots are very deep. Our roots are in the hearts of the common people. the minds of ordinary students. But the general students have a bad idea about student politics. It’s a bitter experience.

He said that for 15 and a half years, students have seen the abuse of power on campus. You have to show your power. When the leader goes to the campus, the general students have to salute him. When you see him, you will leave the road. If there is any party program, he will be forcibly taken away. That won’t happen anymore.

“This kind of politics will not work in Bangladesh. If we, the students, come to you with a qualitative change, you will bind yourselves like brothers in the bond of brotherhood. They are working for the society and the country. There is no education without students. You can’t fight injustice. To lead honestly and truthfully, the leadership of the country should be created through student politics. Because India, the country’s closest neighbour, wants to decentralise politics. Student leadership is not created. This will harm the country and the nation. Then their well-being will be improved. That can’t happen.

We have to be aware and vocal for the welfare of the country and the nation. Then the dreams of all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country will be fulfilled.

On the occasion, the central leader of the Chhatra Dal planted a tree on the college campus and also talked to the college principal and teachers. BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, chairperson’s adviser Abdul Awal Mintoo, BNP joint secretary general Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, organising secretary Abdus Salam Azad and ex-Dhaka City unit BNP members secretary Abdus Salam were, among others, present at the meeting.
