Students attack madrasa after being expelled for smoking in classrooms

Chhatra Dal leaders and activists attacked and vandalized the Baralekha Muhammadia Fazil (Degree) Madrasa in Moulvibazar for temporarily expelling four students for the crime of smoking in the classroom.

The incident took place at Baralekha Muhammadia Fazil (Degree) Madrasa in Baralekha town of Moulvibazar on Wednesday (October 2) afternoon.

It is known that the video of four madrassa students smoking while sitting in the classroom was spread on social media. In this incident, the management committee of the madrasa decided to temporarily expel the four students.As the four expelled students are Chhatra Dal workers, Baralekha Upazila Chhatra Dal member secretary Ariful Islam went to the Madrasa with ten to fifteen people to understand the matter.At one stage, the leaders and activists of the student party attacked and vandalized the madrasa when they quarreled with the ordinary students of the madrasa. Later police and army personnel came and inspected the spot.

According to Baralekha Muhammadia Fazil (Degree) Madrasa sources, the attackers are Ariful Islam, Shahriar Fahim, Abdul Qadir Palash, Saqib Afnan, Samid, Azad, Jalal and many others. Against them, Madrasah Senior Arabic Lecturer Abdul Qadir said some students were expelled for indiscipline. In that incident, some guardians came to the madrasa. They actually we say the principal has gone to the district town, he can actually be understood.In this incident, they clashed with the students of the madrasa. We don’t know who does politics.

Ariful Islam, Member Secretary of Baralekha Upazila Chhatra Dal, said that we have received information that the student camp is cutting forms here and some untoward incidents have taken place. So we came. When they attack us after coming, we attack back.

In this regard, Baralekha Police Station OC Md. Abdul Qayyum said, “As soon as we get the news, we send the force.” Army personnel were also present. Baralekha Jamaat secretary Faisal Ahmad and BNP leader Abdul Qadir Palash promised to resolve the issue in the presence of everyone.
