At the BNP chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Sunday, Indian High Commissioner Pranay Kumar Verma met with BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to discuss a range of bilateral issues between the two nations.

Around 5:00 p.m., the deputy high commissioner, Pravin Badhe, and the high commissioner drove into the office.

Reporters were informed by Mirza Fakhrul after the meeting that “we discussed how to deepen relations with Bangladesh.” We brought up topics like sharing water and how urgently this issue needs to be resolved. We also discussed the need to address security issues and put an end to border killings.”

“The Indian high commissioner assured us that they are aware of these issues and are working on resolving them swiftly,” the BNP secretary general continued. Their primary goal is to deepen their relationship with Bangladesh, especially in view of the impending transition to a new interim administration. In an effort to promote greater understanding and collaboration, they have already communicated with and hope to strengthen relationships with other groups, particularly the BNP.”

BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, who usually participates in such meetings with diplomats, was absent on Sunday as he is currently visiting the United States.
