Md. Nahid Islam, the Information and Broadcasting Adviser, has declared that those responsible for the July-August atrocity will face consequences regardless of their profession as journalists, authors, or artists.

“Even the government does not want to see cases against journalists,” Nahid stated yesterday during a press conference held at the Secretariat. Anyone is welcome to come to the ministry and report any instances they may be facing if they believe they are being harassed.

“Poets, writers, journalists and cultural personalities who were involved in fascism or instigated the massacre must be brought to justice,” he said to a query.

Nahid, also the posts and telecommunications and information technology adviser, said that those who indirectly worked in favour of the mass killings by drawing public opinion through their writings and comments and incited killings would also be brought to book.
