After the student uprising, angry mobs torched and attacked police stations across the country. After attacking police stations and outposts, miscreants looted weapons and ammunition. Joint forces have been conducting operations against loot and illegal weapons since last September 4.
As of Friday (September 13), 144 looted weapons have been recovered across the country including the capital. So far 64 people have been arrested in connection with the recovery of these weapons. Police Headquarters AIG (Media & PR) Inamul Haque Sagar confirmed this information.
He said that a total of 144 weapons have been recovered and 64 people have been arrested so far in the arms recovery operation which started from September 4.
The weapons recovered include- 8 revolvers, 41 pistols, 11 rifles, 17 shotguns, 5 pipe guns, 19 shotguns, 10 LGs, 22 guns, 1 AK 47, 1 gas gun, 1 Chinese rifle, 1 air gun, 3 SBBLs, 3 SMGs and 1 tear gas launcher.
