Before the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government in the face of mass agitation on August 5, the leaders and activists of Awami League and allied organizations took to the streets of Moulvibazar city against the students.

“They wanted to create a platform called” “Peace Rally” “and bury a point to increase the violence in the student protests.” The leaders and activists of Awami League and its associate bodies were active on social media. Even when Facebook was shut down in the wake of the student anti-discrimination movement, most of the activists were seen active on social media.

Many leaders were present. His Facebook page and Twitter account were active at the time. Almost every day they were in posts, photos, videos, live.

However, after the fall of the autocratic Hasina government on August 5 in a mass uprising by the students and the public, the profiles and pages of many leaders and activists of the local Awami League and its associate organizations have disappeared from Facebook. A few days ago, Facebook found that the profiles or pages of the most vocal leaders were no longer on Facebook.

AB Rauf, the president of Moulvibazar district Chhatra League, does not have a profile on Facebook. He doesn’t have a post. The profile of Rajnagar upazila Chhatra League General Secretary Abdullah Al Sammu has also disappeared from Facebook.

However, former Chhatra League general secretary Mahbubur Rahman left the country before the country movement. His Facebook page is still active.

Rajnagar upazila chairman and upazila Awami League leader Shahjahan Khan is still active on Facebook. However, it is learned that after the movement, he secretly went to London via Sylhet Airport.

Although the Facebook profile of Moulvibazar district Awami League general secretary Misbahur Rahman was found, it did not find any post after August 5. Besides, most of the Facebook profiles and pages of local Awami League, Chhatra League, Jubo League and Swechchhasebak League are no longer there. However, some profiles and pages are active, but there are no new posts after 5 days. Posts against the quota movement have also been removed.

It is not clear whether the Facebook authorities have blocked these profiles and pages of the leaders and activists of Awami League and its associate bodies. However, if too many users report on a profile or page, they are closed. Sometimes the user can also disable the profile or page.

It is known that a Facebook group named ‘Cyber Safety First Bangladesh’ has been actively supporting the movement on the internet and social media in the anti-discrimination student movement. “Those who were publishing provocative posts against ordinary students in the anti-discrimination student movement,” “cyber action” “was taken on behalf of the students on their profiles and pages.” Similar actions were taken against the profiles and pages of various leaders.
