Eight offenders have been taken into custody in Cox’s Bazar as a result of a coordinated law enforcement operation, and numerous firearms have also been recovered.
The raid happened early on Friday morning in Cox’s Bazar Sadar upazila’s PMkhali Union.
Kolim Ullah, 34, Md. Khorshed Alam, 37, Md. Hasan Sharif Laden, 20, Md. Shahin, 23, Md. Mizan, 20, Abdul Malek, 48, Abdul Hai, 24, and Abdul Aziz, 25 are the people who have been detained.
Based on their statements, two houses were searched, leading to the recovery of three single-barrel shotguns, two LGs, two 9mm pistols, three pistol magazines, nine rounds of pistol ammunition, 39 cartridges, five machetes, one chain, a Chinese axe, and two knives.
These criminals have reportedly been involved in various terrorist and violent activities in the area for a long time.
The operation was led by the 9th East Bengal Regiment of the 2nd Infantry Brigade, 10th Infantry Division, Cox’s Bazar, along with magistrates, police, RAB, and BGB personnel.
Afterwards, the police received the arrested people so they could continue with their legal proceedings.
