As a result of heavy rain overnight, the road was closed for 13 hours due to the landslide in Jankichhara area of ​​Srimangal-Bhanugach road passing through Lauachhara National Park in Kamalganj, Moulvibazar. Later today Tuesday (August 20) around 3:30 p.m. the soil was removed from the road and traffic on the road became normal. Earlier on Tuesday at around 2 o’clock in the night, due to heavy rain, the road was blocked due to the collapse of the dune. Traffic stopped.

Khalilur Rahman, Deputy Divisional Engineer of Moulvibazar Roads and Township Department, said that due to excessive rain, traffic was stopped due to the collapse of the dune on the road during the night. After we removed the soil from the road, traffic returned to normal.

Meanwhile, due to the closure of the road, the people traveling on this road suffered. Many people had to travel around 20 kilometers through the Mirtinga tea garden of Kamalganj to reach their destination through Majdihi of Srimangal and Munsibazar of Kamalganj. Passengers often have to pay higher fares.

A person named Priyatosh Das said that he has to go to Bhanugach and Kamalganj every day for different work. I came to the CNG stand this morning and heard that the road was closed. After a lot of wandering, I came to Bhanugach. It took a long time. Where the rent is 30 taka, the rent has to be paid 100 taka.

Suman Mia Mia, a CNG driven auto rickshaw driver said, We are going to Bhanugach by going around 20 km as the road passing through Lauachhra is closed. Passengers are wasting a lot of time. Due to traveling a lot, the rent has to be charged more.

Another driver named Kadar said that there were many passengers as the road was closed today. Many passengers refused to go around. We also lost a lot today.

Meanwhile, Anisur Rahman, a senior officer of Srimangalastha Meteorological Monitoring Center, said that 154 millimeters of rainfall was recorded from 6:00 a.m. on Monday to 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday. He also said that there will be more heavy rainfall in this region.
