Members of the Bangladesh Army have seized a large quantity of illegal foreign brand liquor from Srimangal Club in Uttarsur area of ​​Moulvibazar Srimangal. A joint team of army and police conducted an operation at the club on Thursday (August 15) at 9 pm. During this operation of the army, 100 bottles of domestic and foreign liquor, 345 US dollars, 45 thousand taka in cash and a large amount of birth control pills were seized by the army members.

At that time Mithun Pal, son of Amlendu Pal of Harinakandi area of ​​Ashidron Union of Upazila and Co-Promotion and Publication Secretary of Upazila Awami League was arrested by the army. Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Salahuddin Biswas were present on the occasion. Later, Mithun Pal was handed over to Srimangal police. In this regard, it is known that a case under the Narcotics Act is under process at the police station.

In this regard, Army Major Mejba, who is in charge of Srimangal and Kamalganj upazilas, said that Mithun Pal attacked people in Sabuj Bagh area after drinking alcohol last Wednesday night, and later he was also injured by the locals. When he was questioned about where he drank the liquor from, the Srimangal club member said, when the raid was conducted there on Thursday night, the rest of the illegal liquor was seized, he said.
