Three people including former MP’s wife died on the road in Moulvibazar

Three people died in a road accident in Srimangal Upazila of Moulvibazar. Among them is the wife of a former member of parliament. The matter was confirmed on Friday (August 9) by Kalapur Union Ward Member Abdus Sobhan Chowdhury.He said that the incident took place in the Kalapur area of ​​the upazila on Thursday (August 8) afternoon.

The deceased are Nazma Begum (50), wife of former BNP member of Parliament Shafiqur Rahman, Fahad Ahmed (12) and Hasain Ahmed (22). All of them are known to be residents of the local Baruna village.

It is learned that they were all going to Srimangal town from Varuna village of the upazila in an auto-rickshaw around Thursday afternoon. On the way there was a head-on collision with a local bus in that area. Two died on the spot. Later, the locals took four injured people to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital where one more person died. The remaining three are now admitted to Osmani Medical College Hospital. Later, the army members on duty in the upazila visited the spot.
