Jamia Anwarul Uloom Hamidnagar Baruna Title Madrasa in Sreemangal, Moulvibazar district, is sending 5 students to Umrah after they made it to the merit list of the government-recognized Qawmi Education Board Al-Hayatul Ulaya and Bangladesh Qawmi Madrasa Education Board Befaq in last year’s central examination.
The awardees are Hafez Shihabuddin, Mahdi Hasan Khan, Abdullah Al Arshad, Rashid Ahmed and Ataur Rahman.
Baruna Madrasa authorities said that in the board examination of Al-Haya and Befaq in 2024, Hafez Shihab Uddin, a student of Mishkat Jamaat, secured the 18th serial in Befaq Board, Ataur Rahman, who secured the 12th serial in Nahbemi Jamaat, Mahdi Hasan Khan, Rashid Ahmed, who secured the 10th serial in Mishkat Jamaat, Abdullah Al-Arshad, who secured the 33rd serial in Haiatul Ulaya.
The deceased is Mofazzel Hossain, son of Abdul Jabbar of the village. Abdullah Al-Arshad is the son of Mawlana Fakhruzzaman of Faridabad, Sylhet. Ataur Rahman hails from Rajnagar upazila of Moulvibazar district. In this context, the authorities of Baruna Madrasa made arrangements for the students to perform Omra.
Baruna madrasa principal Maulana Sheikh Badrul Alam Hamidi said: “We take such initiatives to improve the quality of madrasa teaching and to make students more attentive and encouraging in their studies. In the future, if the students make it to the merit list of 10 in Befaq and Haiatul Ulia boards, Umrah trips will be allocated, he said.
