A murder case has been filed against 126 people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, in connection with the death of Abdul Ahad (17), who was shot during an anti-discrimination student protest in Savar, Dhaka. On Thursday night, Nazrul Islam, the dead student’s father, filed a murder case at Savar Model Police Station as the plaintiff.
The deceased Abdul Ahad (Saikat) is the son of Nazrul Islam of North Dighalkandi village of Sonatala in Bogra. He was a class XI student of Dhaka Commerce College and lived with his family in Shahibagh area of ​​Savar.
Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader as well as former Interior Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former State Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ministry Mohammad Ali Arafat, former State Minister of Disaster Management and Relief Ministry Enamur Rahman, Savar Upazila Awami League General Secretary and former Upazila Chairman are in the case. Manjurul Alam Rajib, Savar Municipality Mayor Abdul Gani, Municipality Councilor Nazrul Islam Mollah,Tentuljhora Union Parishad Chairman Fakhrul Alam, Ashulia Thana Awami League President Farooq Hasan and 126 people have been accused. Apart from this, 250-300 more people have been named as accused.
